The Episcopal Diocese of Montana
2009 Convention
Holy Spirit Parish is proud to host the Montana Diocese 106th Annual Convention. This year the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, the Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, will be attending. The Diocesan Convention, by its constitution, is a governing body of the Diocese. All clergy in the Montana Diocese, active and retired, are automatically delegates as well as 2 to 14 lay delegates from every Montana congregation based on their size (Holy Spirit has 14 delegates). Lay delegates are nominated and approved at congregation annual meetings. All delegates in attendance may discuss and vote on issues including Diocesan policy, budget, and matters of ministry, social and economic justice and other topics proposed by the Diocesan committees.
Useful information for the delegates about Holy Spirit and Missoula may be found on this page. Registration and other business matters concerning the convention, e.g. Committees, Proposed Resolutions, Delegate responsibilities may be found on the Diocesan Web by clicking here http://www.mtepiscopal.org/diocesanconvention/2009_diocesan_convention.html
