Stepping Forward in Faith!

Church School Begin Sunday September 12^th

Join us for our 2010 church school kick off—we’re doing something new! It’s a new school year. Kids are in new classes, perhaps at new schools, with new teachers and new friends. It is a natural time of transition for our children, and so it is for our parish too as we continue the process of searching for a new rector. Change can be unsettling and stressful, but it can also present opportunities for growth and new life. The children will be exploring these themes and learning about the resources of our faith, the tools presented in Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer, that can help us in times of change.

Sunday September 12th is also the day of an inaugural event in Missoula called Sunday Streets, sponsored by Missoula in Motion as well as variety of other groups. The idea is to create a no car zone by closing a city street and encouraging walking and biking. Higgins Avenue will be closed from the Big Dipper (5^th St.) to the XXX’s at North Higgins. A variety of family friendly activities will be happening in the street and along the way, everything from jumper houses to yoga classes. Since Holy Spirit is only one block off this route we are encouraging all parishioners to walk or ride their bikes to church (and receive a “I rode my bike to church” button) and then join in the festivities after worship. So…move your body and make your way to 130 S 6^th St E on Sunday morning September 12^th and you will be greeted by footprints on the sidewalk and maps galore as together we begin to find our way…stepping forward in faith.

            Children get their pictures taken in the courtyard.
